Dr Sergey Semenov

Dr. Sergey Semenov is a postdoctoral research associate at Harvard University. He leads complex systems subgroup within Prof. Whitesides research group. His work aims to answer the question how an interplay between chemical reaction kinetics and diffusion generates new structures and functionalities. This knowledge will help in understanding of fundamental reasons behind complexity, robustness, and functionality of biological cell as well as in constructing artificial cell type systems.
Research of Dr. Semenov was published in many prestigious journals including Nature, Nature Chemistry, Angewandte Chemie, and Journal of American Chemical Society. Prior Harvard, Dr. Semenov worked in Institute of Molecules and Materials at Nijmegen University and in the University of Zurich. He is a recipient of Forschungskredit grant from the University of Zurich and of Marie Curie grant from European Research Council.
