Dr Cheol Park

Park is a Senior Researcher at NASA Langley Research Center. He also serves as a Research Faculty in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Virginia and Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Applied Science, College
of William and Mary. He received his BS and MS degrees in Textile Engineering from Seoul National University and his PhD degree in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan. His fields of expertise include nanotube synthesis and dispersion, sensing/actuation/electrical/dielectric properties of nanocomposites, solar absorption/thermal emission materials, flexible chiral metamaterials, and radiation shielding materials. Recently he received NASA Government Invention of the Year Award for the discovery of a novel boron nitride nanotube synthesis method.
